The mysteries of the Bible
and their interpretations in the
SPIRIT OF PROPHECY
I n t r o d u c t i o n
“During the first twenty-five hundred years of human history, there was no written revelation. Those who had been taught of God communicated their knowledge to others, and it was handed down from father to son, through successive generations. The preparation of the written word began in the time of Moses. Inspired revelations were then embodied in an inspired book. This work continued during the long period of 1.600 years, — from Moses, the historian of creation and the Law, to John, the recorder of the most sublime truths of the gospel.” – The Great Controversy, p. 7.
John the Revelator had accomplished the writing of the book of Revelation in the year 96. And so was the Bible beginning to be written by Moses sometime in the year 1600 – 96 year = the year 1504 BC. Moses is known as the author of his five books : the GENESIS, EXODUS, LEVITICUS, NUMBER, and the DEUTERONOMY.
Although the Bible of the Old Testament is known of its numerous prophecies which were so mysterious ever since the beginning, those five books of Moses could directly be read and understood. And from the books could we know that the Hebrews ever since the beginning, not long hence after the time of Noah, they had been chosen by the Lord God as His people on the earth. So from among them was Abraham then appointed as Father of all men of faith on the earth. And then from his posterity came Jacob, who was the first to get the name “I s r a e l” right from the lips of the Lord Jesus Himself. And so from his posterities in this time of the end, are to emerge the end time Israelites of God, who are to return to the Holy Land of Palestine to establish the eternal Kingdom of Heaven as those prophesied by the Old Testament prophets ever since long time ago. To this prophet Ezekiel ever said :
“And ye shall know that I am the Lord, when I shall bring you into the land of Israel, into the country for the which I lifted up mine hand to give it to your fathers. And there shall ye remember your ways, and all your doings, wherein ye have been defiled; and ye shall loth yourselves in your own sight for all your evils that ye have committed. And ye shall know that I am the Lord, when I have wrought with you for my name’s sake, not according to your wicked ways, nor according to your corrupt doings, O ye house of Israel, saith the Lord God.” – Ezekiel 20 : 42 – 44.
Division of the Bible according to the Law
Moses said :
“The secret things belong unto the Lord our God : but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this Law.” — Deuteronomy 29 : 29.
Those secret things actually could not be found in the Bible. Whereas the secret things that shall be revealed, are very many available in the Bible, beginning with the prophecies of the Old Testament prophets, and the book of Revelation, and all the parables of Jesus in the New Testament. According to Moses, those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the word of the Law. Therefore, those things which are revealed should have been the r u l e s of implementation of the law of the Ten Commandments.
The prophets and the l a w
prophesied until John the Baptist
Apostle Matthew said : “For all the prophets and the l a w prophesied until John.” – Matthew 11 : 13.
The l a w and the prophets prophesied. Due to the fact that not all the Old Testament prophets did prophesy, and since the Law of the Ten Commandments did not prophesy, we must then understand that the Old Testament prophets who prophesied should have been identified by their prophecies available in the Bible of the Old Testament. So is the law that did prophesy must unavoidably be the ceremonial law of Moses. Here are the names of the Old Testament prophets who prophesied in the past : Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah, and the Malachi.
The availabilities of those prophecies in the Old Testament Bible were not for every one of us to make pains to dig deeper and deeper to understand the meaning thereof, and then to get them practiced in our practical religion. Not at all. They were found there, because those who prophesied lived in that time of the Old Testament. So the prophecies should be parts of the Old Testament Bible that were still in mystery up to the time when they shall be revealed in the time of the end.
During the lifetime of Jesus in the Palestine
Jesus was ever received a question from a lawyer : “Which is the greatest Commandment in the Law of God ?” Jesus said, that to love God with all your heart and with all your soul, and with all your might, and to love your fellowmen as how to love yourselves, are the two main and greatest Commandments in the Law. Upon these two Commandments hang the Law and the prophets. The prophets here mean the Bible of the Old Testament prophets and their writings. When Jesus was in the Palestine the New Testament was not as yet available.
So when Jesus was in the Palestine, the Bible that was available at the time consists of the Law of Ten Commandments as the basic Law and only the writings of the Old Testament Prophets as Rules of Implementation of the basic Law. Whereas the prophecies of the Old Testament prophets were still wrapped up in mystery, so that they were not at all mentioned by Jesus during His mission of the time.
After Jesus returned to Heaven, even after He poured out His Holy Spirit of the early rain upon all His people of that time, then is beginning to be fulfilled His word here below :
“Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth : for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak : and he will show you things to come.” — John 16 : 13.
And after His return to Heaven, and after the pouring out of the Spirit of the early rain upon the disciples, then were the apostles beginning to write and to document all the teachings of Jesus so long He was there in their midst in the Palestine. Those documented by them will consist of two main things : (1) “the all truth”, that were documented by the apostles, and (2) “the things to come” which were yet in mystery to be documented by apostle John in his book the Revelation.
Thus up to the time when the book of Revelation was written in the year 96, there were again added to the mysterious prophecies of the Old Testament “the things to come” in the book of Revelation, that should be interpreted later in this time of the end.
Apostle Paul is the last disciple of Jesus, who was called by the Lord Himself after His return to Heaven to succeed Judas. This last apostle was well known as the special envoy of Jesus to the Gentiles.
D u r i n g t h e N e w T e s t a m e n t E r a
All the history of the New Testament had been divided by the Lord Jesus in the book of Revelation chapter 2 and 3 into seven periods of Churches. They are :
(1) The period of the Church of Ephesus,
(2) The period of the Church of Smyrna,
(3) The period of the Church of Pergamos,
(4) The period of the Church of Thyatira,
(5) The period of the Church of Sardis,
(6) The period of the Church of Philadelphia, and
(7) The period of the Church of Laodicea.
From the fact that God has o n l y o n e p e o p l e on the earth, in all the history of mankind, then in each period mentioned above the Lord God would have only o n e p e o p l e and o n e C h u r c h respectively, to be acknowledged by Him. And in the meantime the Lord Jesus would have His own appointed agencies to represent Him to lead the people of those Churches. To that end apostle Paul said:
“And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ : till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ : that we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive.” — Ephesians 4 : 11 – 14.
There are five jobs mentioned above : the apostle, the prophet, the evangelist, pastor, and teacher. Although during the time of the apostles up to the year 96 when the book of Revelation was written, there were no prophets as yet available in that time, the jobs must unavoidably be filled later, to meet those that were yet vacant.
During the Dark Ages of Religion
of 1260 years From year 538 — 1798
This tragic event of all the history of mankind had ever before mentioned by the Lord Jesus Himself to His disciples in Matthew 24 : 21 – 22. Even John the Revelator also predicted the same event in the Revelation 11 : 2 – 11. And the servant of the Lord Mrs. White gave us the story in more details here below :
“The period here mentioned — “forty and two months,” and “a thousand two hundred and threescore days” are the same, alike representing the time in which the church of Christ was to suffer oppression from Rome. The 1260 years of papal supremacy began in Ad 538, and would therefore terminate in 1798. At that time a French army entered Rome and made the pope a prisoner, and he died in exile. Though a new pope was soon afterward elected, the papal hierarchy has never since been able to wield the power which it before possessed.”
“The persecution of the church did not continue throughout the entire period of the 1260 years. God in mercy to His people cut short the time of their fiery trial. In foretelling the “great tribulation” to befall the church, the Savior said : “Except those day should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.” Matthew 24 : 22. Through the influence of the Reformation the persecution was brought to an end prior to 1798.” – The Great Controversy, pp. 266, 267.
“In the sixteenth century the Reformation, presenting an open Bible to the people, had sought admission to all the countries of Europe. Some nations welcomed it with gladness, as a messenger of Heaven. In other lands the papacy succeeded to a great extent in preventing its entrance; and the light of the Bible knowledge, with its elevating influences, was almost wholly excluded. In one country, though the light found entrance, it was not comprehended by the darkness. For centuries, truth and error struggled for the mastery. At last the evil triumphed, and the truth of Heaven was thrust out. “This is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light.” John 3 : 19. …………………………….
“The war against the Bible, carried forward for so many centuries in France, culminated in the scenes of the Revolution. That terrible out breaking was but the legitimate result of Rome’s suppression of the Scriptures. ……………………
“The suppression of the Scriptures during the period of papal supremacy was foretold by the prophets; and the Revelator points also to the terrible results that were to accrue especially to France from the domination of the “man of sin.”
Said the angel of the Lord: “The holy city shall they tread underfoot forty and two months. And I will give power unto My two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and three score days, clothed in sackcloth. ……….. The Great Controversy, pp. 265, 266.
During the long period of the great tribulation there had been founded several Churches of God as follows :
The Protestant Church denomination founded by DR. Martin Luther on the doctrine of “Justification by faith”.
The Presbyterian Church denomination founded by John Knox, on the doctrine of The Holy Spirit.
The Methodist Church denomination founded by John Wesley, on the doctrine of “grace”.
And the Baptist Church denomination founded by Alexander Campbell, on the doctrine of “Baptism through immersion.”
Since William Miller and Mrs. White as founders of their Church respectively during their period of time, h a v e been recognized as prophets of this time of the end, then DR. Martin Luther, John Knox, John Wesley, and Alexander Campbell as founders of the Church denominations above should unavoidably be of the same jobs, the prophets as those mentioned by apostle Paul in the Ephesian 4 : 11 – 14.
Whereas in the meantime all the mysteries of the Old Testament prophecies, the book of Revelation, and the parables of Jesus in the New Testament are still wrapped up in mystery.
We are now entering the period of the time of the end
The time of the end will be identified through the message of the angel Gabriel to prophet Daniel in the following words :
“But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end : many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.”
“And he said, Go thy way Daniel : for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.” — Daniel 12 : 4, 9 – 10.
Many shall run to and fro and knowledge of science and technology developed with so tremendous speed ever since the beginning of the eighteenth century, is an unavoidable fact that we have been already in the time of the end. Since those secret things of Daniel‘s prophecies will be kept secret only up to the time of the end, then at the commencement of the time of the end in the eighteenth century all the secret things of the Bible began to be revealed, beginning with the book of Daniel. Thus was come the servant of the Lord Bro. William Miller ever since the year 1831 to have the prophecy concerning the 2300 days of Daniel 8 : 14 began to be revealed. And then came Mrs. Ellen G. White in 1844 with her message of the Spirit of Prophecy of Revelation 14, revealing to us the Book of Revelation as the complement of the Book of Daniel. And at the end followed by Bro. Victor T. Houteff in 1929 who had revealed all the mysteries of the prophecies of the Old Testament prophets, and the book of Revelation, and the parables of Jesus of the New Testament. Then is fulfilled the prophetic words of Amos when he said : “Surely the Lord God will do nothing but He revealeth His secret unto His servants the prophets.” – Amos 3 : 7.
We would then remember Moses and his statement, when he said : “The secret things belong unto the Lord our God : but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this Law.” — Deuteronomy 29 : 29.
The secret things belong to the Lord God alone, and they are not to be found in the Bible nor elsewhere. But those secret things that shall be revealed in the time of the end, such as the prophecies of the Old Testament prophets, the book of Revelation, and the parables of Jesus in the New Testament, they belong to us and to our children that we may do all the words of the Law of the Ten Commandments.
But how could we know the prophets, every one of them, who would have come to reveal those secret things of the Bible in this time of the end ?
The End Time or the Time of the End
would have covered two periods of Churches : (1)The Philadelphian Church, and (2) The Laodicean Church
William Miller movement in America according to the world history commenced in 1831 and terminated in 1844. Thus is the whole period of the Church of Philadelphia. The next period is of the Laodicean Church of Seventh-Day Adventist which commenced in 1844, to continue up to the close of probation (close of atonement for all the sinners) in the heavenly sanctuary in the future in 2031.
“Laodicea” originated from two Greek syllables : Lego and dekei. Lego = speak and Dekei = judgment. Therefore, the Laodicean Church means God’s people proclaiming judgment, which is now going on in the heavenly court of justice ever since October 22, 1844 in the heavenly sanctuary.
Thus it is no wonder, that while all Christian world today are zealous proclaiming “Jesus and His Love” in their proclamation of the Gospel unto all the world in this time of the end, whereas the Laodicean Church of God keep on proclaiming “B a c k t o the L A W“ as the basic law of the kingdom of Heaven, and ITS R U L E S OF IMPLEMENTATION IN THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY (of Revelation 19 : 10).
The end time prophets, therefore, must unavoidably come out from the two Churches of God : the Philadelfian Church of the First Day Adventists whose founder is William Miller and the Laodicean Church of Seventh day Adventists, whose founder is Mrs. Ellen G. White. Both founders of the Churches : Bro. William Miller and Mrs. E. G. White would unavoidably be the prophets of this time of the end prophesied by prophet Amos in Amos 3 : 7. Bro. WILLIAM MILLER as prophet of God will always be remembered by his message : “The 2300 days of Daniel 8 : 14“, and Mrs. E.G. White by her message the “Spirit of Prophecy” of the third angel message of Revelation chapter 14.
Mrs. Ellen G. White came from within the Philadelphian Church of God. As the second of the end time prophets, she came just at the end of the period of the Philadelphian Church in 1844. Through several inspired instructions from God she received, either directly through visions or indirectly through dreams in the night seasons, which later had been documented for us in her books of The Spirit of Prophecy publications. She then founded the Laodicean Church of SDA in 1844 to be the seventh and the last Church of God on the earth.
As a simple ordinary woman, who was ever before a staunch believer in the message of William Miller, Mrs. Ellen G. White’s back ground of education is only a fourth grade of Elementary School. She also suffered of a minor physical handicap ever since her early age even up to the end of her old age. Although of so limited back ground of education and of poor health for nearly all of her life time on earth, she had successfully written so many books of The Spirit of Prophecy of her own up to the end of her life. No Professors nor Doctors of Bible Theology could ever match her writing capacity even up to this modern time of the end. The name Ellen G. White, though not so much loved in the denomination of her own founding, she was ever popularly known in the history of the world. Her name has ever been abided and maintained in the main history books of the World.
What a stupid and embarrassing for us, who are now living in this modern world of science and technology, wherein everything is now developing with so speed from time to time, of this time of the end. Whereas we still dare to belittle the servant of the Lord God, who had come in her simplicity of humanity to reveal all the secret things of the Bible and to prepare us for the coming events, which are to transpire one by one up to the close of time in the very near future!
And in regard to the third prophet of those prophesied in Amos 3 : 7, we must unavoidably go first to Mrs. White to find the answer. Although she herself would never know who the person is, but from the identity of the new message to come after her, given us by Mrs. White, we would have come to the related person of the third end time prophet of the prophecy of Amos 3 : 7. To this end Mrs. White had ever said :
“Prophecy must be fulfilled. The Lord says : “Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.’ S o m e b o d y is to come in the spirit and power of Elijah, and when he appears, men may say : ‘You are too earnest, you do not interpret the Scriptures in the proper way. Let me tell you how to teach your message.” — Testimonies to Ministers, p. 475.
The servant of the Lord Bro. Houteff had already come in the spirit and power of Elijah, that is, in the message of Elijah the prophet, a message that deals specifically with the purification of the Laodicean Church, by calling the people to return to the observance of the Law of the Ten Commandments, which was ever since long before commanded to Moses by the Lord God Himself on the Mount Sinai.
“Remember ye the Law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments.” – Malachi 4 : 4.
“Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.” – Malachi 4 : 5, 6.
It means, that preceding the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord in the near future, when the Laodicean Church of SDA should have been purified as those prophesied in Ezekiel 9, Isaiah 66 : 16 – 20, and Malachi 3 : 1, 2, the servant of the Lord Bro. Victor T. Houteff who is to represent Elijah the prophet and his message should have come first.
How THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY
of Revelation 19 : 10 were provided for us
in this time of the end
Those who understand the law would have ever remembered the words of Moses ever since several thousand years ago, when he said:
“The secret things belong unto the Lord our God : but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this Law.” — Deuteronomy 29 : 29.
Those secret things would not be found anywhere in the Bible. But the secret things that should be interpreted later by Miller, White, and Houteff in the time of the end as those prophesied in Amos 3 : 7, they would have been provided for us in the SPIRIT OF PROPHECY, that we may do all the words of the law of the Ten Commandments.
Thus may it be clearly understood, that the secret things that are to be revealed to the end time prophets of those prophesied in Amos 3 : 7 would be : (1) the prophecies of the Old Testament prophets, (2) those secret things in the book of Revelation, and (3) the parables of Jesus in the New Testament. All those are to be revealed into the so-called THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY (of Revelation 19 : 10), to be the Rules of Implementation of the basic Law of the Ten Commandments.
“To the law and to the testimony (of Jesus or The SPIRIT OF PROPHECY) who talk not according to this word, it is because there is no l i g h t in them.” – Isaiah 8 : 20. (In brackets added).
The Law is immutable as well as God Himself as the Author of the Law is immutable and everlasting. But the testimony or the Testimony of Jesus or THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY is changeable. Not because Jesus is changeable, but because it is the Rules of implementation of the basic Law. The Rules of implementation of the Law is always changeable.
And since the testimony or the testimony of Jesus as the rules of implementation of the Law is changeable up to this time of the end, then let it be remembered, that we as the Laodiceans of the time of the end, THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY should be the only Rules of Implementation of the Law applying for this time of the end. Without THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY as Rules of Implementation of the Law no one could ever be able to obey God according to His will.
Let us, therefore, no more be fully dependent upon Paul and his epistle, nor upon all the apostles of the New Testament and their gospel without first consulting the SPIRIT OF PROPHECY which epistles and the gospel are still applying in this time of the end. Those apostles have died in their faith upon the Gospel of their time, and they are to be resurrected in the first resurrection of all the saints at the end of the world. But the Gospel of the New Testament alone could not save us in this time of the end, because those mysteries of the Old Testament prophecies, the secret things in the book of Revelation, and even the parables of Jesus in the New Testament were not as yet revealed in the time of the apostles. So the SPIRIT OF PROPHECY of Revelation 19 : 10 was not as yet known to them in the Gospel of the New Testament.
So if you like to persist to embrace only the Bible and the New Testament Gospel and to live the life of Jesus and His apostles up to their end as those narrated in the Gospel of the New Testament, you will be disappointed at the end. Because you live according to your own rule of life, and not according to the Rules of Implementation of the Law of Heaven. All those who died before THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY be found in their midst, they shall not be found wrong for transgressing any rule in the SPIRIT OF PROPHECY. But for the Laodiceans of this time of the end, although we would no more be found wrong according to the Gospel of the New Testament, but we could still be found wrong according to the SPIRIT OF PROPHECY, because we fail to obey the prophecies to strive with all our power to be saved with the 144.000 elected saints of God in the future.
C o n c l u s i o n
For those who still trust fully on only the Gospel of the New Testament to be their sole agent of salvation at the second advent of Jesus in the future, let them think and rethink several times. All the people of the New Testament, who died in the true faith of the Gospel, they are now sleeping in their graves. They will be resurrected at the second advent of Jesus in the sky, and then to be taken right to heaven. But for us who are now alive, we are yet to obey all the rules of implementation of the Law as those provided in the books of Revelation, in the books of the Old Testament prophets, and in all the parables of Jesus in the New Testament, as those are now having been revealed in the SPIRIT OF PROPHECY of Revelation 19 : 10. Just through the SPIRIT OF PROPHECY we are to be obliged to strive with all the power God has given us to be among the 144.000 elected saints of God in the near future. We are yet to proclaim the Gospel of salvation unto the entire world up to the close of probation in the heavenly court of justice. And then to be permitted to join all the saints of the world to welcome Jesus at His second advent and His angels coming from afar off in the sky.
Those prophecies have now been interpreted and revealed in the SPIRIT OF PROPHECY. Let no more any one of us belittle the sure words of the prophecies, because ever since long ago through a servant of the Lord we have been seriously warned in the following words :
“We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts. Knowing this first that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man : but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” – 2 Peter 1 : 19 – 21.
