Identities of the end time Israelites, the descendants of the Old Testament Israelites, from which the 144.000 elected saints of God will come
“And I heard the number of them which were sealed : and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousands of all the tribes of the children of Israel.”
Revelation 7 : 4
Introduction
“Israel” is a name given from God to “Jacob” after his successful deliverance from the hand of his own brother Esau, who sought to kill him during a period of time. We all know well the story why did Esau seek to kill his younger brother, because he had lost the privilege of having the birthright from his father Isaac. He had lost the privilege, first due to his own carelessness and indifference to have the birthright according to its paramount importance of its meaning to his after life, and secondly because his younger brother Jacob who also had ever since coveted the birthright, had successfully received it from his father Isaac through cheating in cooperation with mother Rebekah. The consequence of the act of the younger brother, Jacob should become a fugitive for a period of time for he was then sought after to be killed by Esau his brother. The name “Israel” itself originated from “Hebrew”, which is the name of a chosen people of God ever since the failure of building the Tower of Babil after the flood several hundred years after the time of Noah. They are the residue of people who had been chosen of God for their steadfastness to keep the Law and to worship God up to the time.
Back to the time after the flood. After most of men and women as children of Noah and his posterity again transgressed the Law of God and rebelled against Him, by beginning to build the tower of Babil in the sense that whenever the flood returns, they all might be seeking a refuge on the higher grounds to be saved. And this is the reason why the Lord should have broken their language into so many languages and tongues and dialects even up to now. And even had emerged so many nations and peoples and tongues all over the world that had driven them to scatter unto all parts of the earth up to now. This is the reason why the people should have been led to occupy the whole earth according to the will of the Lord. And this is the main reason why one nation should have been in war against the other for none other than of land ownership.
To maintain the true worship of Noah and his families, the Lord had chosen the Hebrews from among all the inhabitants of the earth after the flood, to represent Him on this earth. Thus it was ever since, that the Hebrews as a chosen people of God, they had been blessed with the so-called “Saved by grace”, not to be directly saved unto the Kingdom in Heaven above, but just to benefit from the presence of the prophets and the apostles of God, and their messages directly presented first to them, and then unto all the world as the written words of salvation. And upon only thus will all the people of God build their faith unto salvation.
However, the result of their on and on transgressions against the will of God, that their status as the chosen people of God had ended in the year 34. Ever since, therefore, for every one of us to be a man of God or citizen of the Kingdom of Heaven, he must secure his own calling. That means, we are to be saved by grace one by one, according to the chosen will of the Lord Himself.
The Call of Abraham to be
Father of all men of faith on the earth
After the Hebrews were chosen of God as His people on earth ever since the failed building of the Tower of Babil, then came Abraham of the line of Shem. “God made him the keeper of His Law for future generations. Abraham had grown up in the midst of superstition and heathenism. Even his father’s household, by whom the knowledge of God had been preserved, were yielding to the seductive influences surrounding them, and they “served other gods” than Jehovah. But the true faith was not to become extinct. The servant of God, Mrs. White further said :
“God has ever preserved a remnant to serve Him. Adam, Seth, Enoch, Methuselah, Noah, Shem, in unbroken line, had preserved from age to age the precious revealing of His will. The son of Terah became the inheritor of this holy trust. Idolatry invited him on every side, but in vain. Faithful among the faithless, uncorrupted by the prevailing apostasy, he steadfastly adhered to the worship of the true God. “The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon Him, to all that call upon Him in truth.” Psalm 145 : 18. “He communicated His will to Abraham, and gave him a distinct knowledge of the requirements of His law and of the salvation that would be accomplished through Christ.
“There was given to Abraham the promise, especially dear to the people of that age, of numerous posterity and of national greatness : “I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing.” And to this was added the assurance, precious above every other to the inheritor of faith that of his line the Redeemer of the world should come : “In thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.” Yet, as the first condition of fulfillment, there was to be a test of faith; a sacrifice was demanded.” — Patriarchs and Prophets, p. 125.
Abraham had walked through a very gravest test of faith of all his life time. And since he had passed them all successfully, Abraham was then entitled “Father of all men of faith.” And then from his posterity the Redeemer of the world came, who was born in Bethlehem, Judea in the Palestine at the beginning of the international Calendar year.
God had made Abraham to be ancestor of a great nation, I s r a e l, and to that end was Isaac the son born to him, who had successfully shared with him the same gravest test of faith. Isaac was then married to a woman of his parents’ choice, who was of the same faith in the Lord. And from him was born the twin sons : Jacob and Esau. In the marriage of Isaac there is a special instruction for us here below when Mrs. White said :
“In ancient times marriage engagements were generally made by parents, and this was the custom among those who worship God. None were required to marry those whom they could not love ; but in the bestowal of their affections the youth were guided by the judgment of their experienced, God-fearing parents. It was regarded as a dishonor to parents, and even a crime, to pursue a course contrary to this.” — Patriarchs and Prophets, p. 171.
“He who has entered the marriage relation while unconverted , is by his conversion placed under stronger obligation to be faithful to his companion, however widely they may differ in regard to religious faith; yet the claims of God should be placed above every earthly relationship , even though trials and persecution may be the result. With the spirit of love and meekness, this fidelity may have an influence to win the unbelieving one. But the marriage of Christians with the ungodly is forbidden in the Bible. The Lord’s direction is, “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers.” – 2 Corinthians 6 : 14, 17, 18. – Ibid., p. 175.
“If there is any subject which should be carefully considered and in which the counsel of older and more experienced persons should be sought, it is the subject of marriage; if ever the Bible was needed as a counselor, if ever divine guidance should be sought in prayer, it is before taking a step that binds persons together for life.” – Ibid. p. 175.
Jacob and Esau
“Jakub and Esau, the twin sons of Isaac, present a striking contrast, both in character and in life. This unlikeness was foretold by the angel of God before their birth. When in answer to Rebekah’s troubled prayer he declared that the two sons would be given her, he opened to her their future history, that each would become the head of a mighty nation, but that one would be greater than the other, and that the younger would have the pre-eminence.
……………………..
“The promises made to Abraham and confirmed to his son were held by Isaak and Rebekah as the great object of their desires and hopes. With these promises Esau and Jacob were familiar. They were taught to regard the birthright as a matter of great importance, for it included not only an inheritance of worldly wealth but spiritual pre-eminence. He who received it was to be the priest of his family, and in the line of his posterity the Redeemer of the world would come. On the other hand, there were obligations resting upon the possessor of the birthright. He who should inherit its blessings must devote his life to the service of God. Like Abraham, he must be obedient to the divine requirements. In marriage, in his family relations, in public life, he must consult the will of God. – Patriarchs and Prophets, p. 177.
As Christians we are all familiar with the history of the twin sons of Isaac and Rebekah his wife. And even the characters and personal lives of both the sons are in fact no stranger to every one of us in this time of the end. Esau as the eldest son, instead of making himself ready to inherit the birthright from Isaac his father, and to make a regular appointment with the mother for that purpose, he was just so indifferent as if not to regard the birthright is of any value. Whereas the younger brother Jacob was so zealous to gain the possession of the birthright due to its value as those promised to them by the Lord through Abraham their grandfather.
When the birthright at last fell to Jacob, then was he convinced to understand of how great the loss he had to suffer for all the rest of his life. To this the servant of the Lord, Mrs. White said :
“Esau had lightly valued the blessing while it seemed within his reach, but he desired to possess it now that it was gone from him forever. All the strength of his impulsive, passionate nature was aroused, and his grief and rage were terrible. He cried with an exceeding bitter cry, “Bless me, even me also, O my father!” “Hast thou not reserved a blessing for me ?” But the promise given was not to be recalled. The birthright which he had so carelessly bartered he could not now regain. “For one morsel of meat,” for a momentary gratification of appetite that had never been restrained, Esau sold his inheritance; but when he saw his folly, it was too late to recover the blessing. “He found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.” Hebrews 12 : 16, 17. ……………………………. Esau was not shut out from the privilege of seeking God’s favor by repentance, but he could find no means of recovering the birthright. His grief did not spring from confiction of sin; he did not desire to be reconciled to God. He sorrowed because of the results of his sin, but not for the sin itself.
Because of his indifference to the divine blessings and requirements, Esau is called in Scripture “a profane person.” Verse 16. He represents those who lightly value the redemption purchased for them by Christ, and are ready to sacrifice their heir ship to heaven for a perishable things of earth. Multitude lives for the present, with no thought or care for the future. Like Esau they cry, ”Let us eat and drink; for tomorrow we die.” 1 Corinthians 15 : 32. – Patriarchs and Prophets, pp. 181, 182.
In the drama of Jacob’s greatest trouble in his life, as result of the problem of the birthright, he has proven to have survived successfully all his ordeal. And to that his name was then promoted by the Lord Himself to be “Israel.”
From Jacob came
the twelve tribes of the children of Israelites
By God’s providence the twelve tribes of the children of Israel had been brought into Egypt. Joseph, the young man, by the providence of God, had been sold as a slave by his own brethren to the Egyptians. And after several times of changing hands from one master to another, he was then fallen into the hands of those in the kingly circle of Pharaohs’ family. And from here through the providence of God Himself he was then placed in the palace of Pharaoh, and then acted on behalf of the king for a period of time. From here through the providence of God Joseph could have been permitted to have all the twelve tribes of the children of Israel moved into Egypt, to occupy a plot of land named Goshen up to the time Moses was born in their midst. And after so many years living there under the colonial rule of the Egyptians, they must at last return to their own land of Canaan. The servant of the Lord Bro. Victor T. Houteff said :
“Moreover, when the children of Israel went into the land of Egypt, they made a fine living in Goshen. They lived like kings. Yes, they had even much better living than the best of the Egyptians. God knew , though, that if when the time neared for their deliverance they continued to live like kings , if everything continued to be as easy for them as it had been while Joseph was living, they never, never would make up their minds to go back to the promised land. So it was that providential trying circumstances were brought to cause them to cry day and night for deliverance. Then they were ready to go. To make sure, though, that they all would leave Egypt, the Lord permitted the Egyptian taskmasters to lash their backs and to make their labor extra hard while Moses was in the land. Likewise must the love of the world be beaten out of us, too, if we are ever to start out for our Eden home.” — Timely Greetings, vol. 1, No. 1, p. 11.
The fact now is clear, that for them to be a great nation, they also had to pass several tests of faith which were not as easy as we might possibly think. So after so many years of suffering in Egypt, they must again for about 40 years wandering in the wilderness on their way back home to Canaan.
And after being back in Canaan, they then began to establish their own kingdom, which was the kingdom of Israel of the twelve tribes with Saul as their first king of the time. After that was David appointed to be king over the Israelites up to the time of Solomon the king. Under King Solomon, however, the kingdom was then divided into two kingdoms : the ten tribes kingdom of Israel and the two tribes kingdom of Judah.
In the following history of the kingdoms in the Old Testament we know that the ten tribes kingdom of Israel was later defeated in the war by the Assyrian kingdom in 721 BC. The ten tribes Israelites were then scattered unto the entire world. And through the process of assimilation through marriages with all the people of the world, they had lost all their identities, both national as well as religious identities up to this time. Whereas the two tribes kingdom of Judah was later defeated by the Babylonian kingdom in 587 BC. And after the Babylonian kingdom itself was later defeated by the Medo-Persian Empire, the Jews were then instructed by Koresh the king, and then by Darius the king and the last by king Artaxeses, that they should return to rebuild the Jerusalem, which was ever broken down in the war. Thus differ from the ten tribes Israelites who were ever since before scattered unto all the world, the Jews of the two tribes kingdom had ever lived on the land of Palestine up to the first advent of Christ. And even up to this very moment. Thus according to the promise to Abraham Jesus Christ as the Redeemer of men of sin, was then born in the midst of the Jews in the Palestine at the beginning of the international calendar year. And from then on we know that they are the same Jews, who were in 1948 with the help of the American government, to have occupied the Palestinian land by force even up to this very day. They are the Jews, descendants of Jacob the Israelite. Their religion is Judaism. And in the message of the Shepherd’s Rod they are more known now as the heathen, and not as Christian. They are, therefore, to be driven out of the land as soon as possible, before the 144.000 Israelites of the Lord to have their kingdom established there in the very near future.
Jesus as founder of the Christian Church,
first established in the Palestine
The coming of Jesus on earth at His first advent was actually to be on time. The spiritual condition of the people of God at the time was actually on its very lowest ebb. The Jews who were ever since very anxious to have their own kingdom re-established, and to be free from all worldly affairs, were ever again full of hope, when they heard from John the Baptist that their Messiahs had come. The story was ever narrated by the servant of God as follows :
“When the Son of man rode triumphantly into Jerusalem, they expected Him to be crowned king. The people flocked from the entire region about and cried, “Hosanna to the Son of David.” Matthew 21 : 9. – Life Sketches, p. 62.
“The church of Christ’s day was determined to have the kingdom set up then, when not all was yet ready for it; the church of today is determined not to have it now , when “the end of all things is at hand” ( 1 Peter 4 : 7 ) — when the time is fully come ! The Jews wanted back the kingdom which they had lost — the kingdom of sin and sinner. They were eager to be freed from Roman bondage only, instead of from sin and sinners also.” — Mount Zion at the Eleventh Hour, p. 73.
“The Jews wanted a kingdom of their own, a kingdom of this world (saints and sinners in it). Yes, they wanted a kingdom on earth, but none in Heaven. What is more, they wanted it two thousand years ahead of schedule. Now, ironically, in the time of the restoration of the Kingdom, the Denomination takes an opposite attitude : It wants a kingdom in Heaven, but none on earth. Indeed, it wants to board the “chariot” from Takoma Park. And besides while the Lord says He is to save nations, the Denomination says “He is to save only 144.000 living sons of Jacob,” and consequently none of the sons of other nations. –- Timely Greetings, vol. 1, No. 15, p. 20. (in brackets is added)
Jesus and His mission during three and a half years in the midst of His people in Palestine, only a small number of the Jews who affiliated with the Sanhedrin could be Christianized by Him. Not too many of them could have understood Jesus and His teaching. Whereas most of them and their organization of Sanhedrin keep on standing against Him. And just these people who were at last to crucify Jesus on the cross of Calvary. And not the Roman officials had done that against the Lord.
Before He died Jesus had successfully Christianized at least 120 people of those descendants of the Israelites to become the Christianized Jews. And after being back in Heaven to have His Holy Spirit of the early rain poured down on the first day of the Pentecost three thousand people had been converted on that day, followed by several thousands more converted after that. All those converted ones were only the Jews as descendants of the Old Testament Israelites. And for them to have fully united in the faith according to apostle Paul in Ephesus 4 : 11 – 14, the Lord Jesus had appointed from among them the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, pastors and teachers. One of the appointed apostles of Jesus was John the Revelatory. He was apparently still alive up to the year 96. Just in that year the Lord Jesus had commissioned him to write for us the book of Revelation as the complement of the book of Daniel, which was of the paramount important for the salvation of our people of this time of the end. Through both the servants of God: through Prophet Daniel and Apostle John we have been informed as follows:
Prophet Daniel :
“And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed : and the kingdom shall not be left to other people (than to His own chosen the Israelites), but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever. Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold, the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof is sure.” — Daniel 2 : 44, 45. (In brackets is added).
John the Revelator :
“And I heard the number of them which were sealed : and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousands of all the tribes of the children of Israel. Of the tribe of Judah were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Reuben were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Gad were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Aser were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Nephilim were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Manasseh were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Simeon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Levi were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Issachar were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Zebulon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Joseph were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Benjamin were sealed twelve thousand.” – Revelation 7 : 4 – 8.
Since the book of Revelation is the complement of the book of Daniel, then after the coming kingdom mentioned as the stone kingdom to come out of a great mountain, then the great mountain itself must unavoidably represent the Laodicean Church as the last Church of God in the New Testament history. And the “stone” mentioned by John must unavoidably represent the first fruits of the harvest in the Laodicean Church, who are the 144.000 elected saints of God to come up in the near future. They are the ones who are to “Strive with all the power God has given us to be among the 144.000.” – Review and Herald, March 9, 1905.
However, since the 144.000 elected saints must absolutely be only the descendants of the twelve tribes Israel of the Old Testament, whereas from among all of them there are only two tribes of Judah left, who are now occupying the land of Palestine. We have, therefore, to know them through their identities, both physically as well as spiritually.
Identities of the 144.000
Israelites of this time of the end
(1) THEIR SPIRITUAL IDENTITIES :
Due to the fact that they are the descendants of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel, who are the descendants of the chosen people of God ever since the Hebrews the first time were chosen to be the sole people of God on earth after the flood, it is no wonder if all of them would have been known of their identity ever since the beginning as the law abiding people of God. It is the Law that through the words of prophet Isaiah (in Isaiah 8 : 20) to consist of “the Law” as the basic Law of the Ten Commandments and the testimony of all the words in the Bible and the SPIRIT OF PROPHECY, as rules of implementation of the basic Law. Please read Deuteronomy 29 : 29.
Since their emergence in the future would be a kingdom which is represented by the stone kingdom of the prophecy of Daniel 2 : 44, 45, then the “the Law and the Testimony” should unavoidably be the only foundation of the kingdom. And the first citizens of the kingdom ever since now must also be the Law abiding people of God.
John the Revelator further said : “And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Zion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father‘s name written in their foreheads. ……………..………..
“These are they which were not defiled with women ; for they are virgins. ……. These were redeemed from among men, being the first fruits unto God and to the Lamb. …………..
“And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.” – Revelation 14 : 1, 4, 5.
The only Christian Church in the world today, just in this time of the end, that has ever been symbolized by the Lord Jesus in His parable to the ten virgins, is the Seventh day Adventist Church. That is the reason why the 144.000 elected saints of God should have been the five wise virgins only. However, since there is yet to be found among them those having guile in their mouths (those implicated in sin of Revelation 22 : 18, 19), then the 144.000 elected saints of God should be only those that have passed their test of faith successfully.
(2) THEIR PHISICAL IDENTITIES
John the Revelator said : “And I heard the number of them which were sealed : and there were sealed an hundred and forty four thousands of all the tribes of the children of Israel.“ — Revelation 7 : 4, let us, therefore, understand that though the ten tribes children of Israel are nowhere now to be found in the world for lacking their physical identities after thousands of years having assimilated with all the people of the world wherever they had been scattered, there are left behind yet two tribes of the children of Judah, who are dominating the land of Palestine up to this very day. Although as a nation the two tribes children of Judah, had never before recognized Jesus as their Messiahs, but according to the prophecy, one day in the future many of them as personally would have to know the truth and be converted to join in the 144.000 elected saints of God.
While those of the ten tribes of the children of Israel, would no more be recognized their physical identities now, however, from the fact that they are the descendants of the ten tribes of the children of Israel of the Old Testament, then they must unavoidably be having in their blood “the hereditary gene” of the ten tribes of the children of Israel of the Old Testament. And all of them would be found more in the Laodicean Church of SDA than in other institutions of the world. Though not all of them would ever be willing to strive to be members of the special company of the 144.000 elected saints of the Lord in the future.
How shall the two tribes of the children of Judah
be converted, to join in the 144.000 Israelites of God
in the future
For God to let His end time Israelites of the 144.000 elected saints emerged on the stage of history of the world, the Laodicean Church of SDA must be cleansed as those prophesied in Ezekiel 9, and Isaiah 66 : 16 – 19, and the Malachi 3 : 1, 2. This is the so-called the purification of the Church to take place both in the heavenly court of justice, as well as in the Laodicean Church here on the earth. It is to be the great and dreadful day of the Lord : to be great for those elected ones of all of us, but very-very dreadful for those who fail to be appointed saints of the Lord. It is the great day of the Lord for those who are to be the first citizens of the stone kingdom of Daniel 2 established at the same time of the great and dreadful day of the Lord Jesus.
And as the stone kingdom of Daniel 2 would be at the same time established in Palestine with its first citizens of the 144.000 Israelites of God to stand with the Lamb on the mount Zion (Revelation 14 : 1), then it is no wonder if the war of Zechariah 14 : 2 – 5 would at the same time be fulfilled. Just through the war all the heathen will be driven out of the holy land, to make room for accommodating all the saints from all over the world up to the close of probation in the heavenly sanctuary. This is to enable the mountain of Daniel 2 becoming a very great mountain to cover all the earth up to the close of probation. Prophet Zachariah ever prophesied in the following words :
“For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.” — Zechariah 14 : 2.
The residue of those children of Judah in Jerusalem, Palestine, after the war will not be totally cut off from the city, because they are just members of the 144.000 elected saints of God of this time of the end. Their exact number had been fixed to be only 24.000, because they are descendants of only two tribes of the children of Joseph and Benjamin, who had been allocated each 12.000 to be sealed.
Of how this message of the Eleventh-hour Call could have made them converted in the Palestine, we do not know yet. However, when the time comes in the providence of God that they should have been converted, then through the Spirit of Truth by means of all products of science and technology this message of salvation would have been offered to them through the websites. The Spirit would have created in them the desires to know much more of their salvation. The servant of the Lord Bro. Houteff had ever said that actually ever since the first advent of Jesus the children of Judah had the desire to have their kingdom set up then. If they could be assured through the message that the kingdom is to be established soon in the near future, then they would have embraced this message as soon as possible. Bro. Houteff said :
C o n c l u d e d
If only could we be honest to think fairly well, we should have observed, that the problem of the 144.000 elected saints of God of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel is actually of a paramount importance and very decisive for the salvation of our people in this time of the end. Due to its importance that covers so many aspects of lives, it is, therefore, prophesied not only through Revelation chapters 7 and 14, and in the book of Daniel chapter 2, Ezekiel chapter 9, Isaiah 66 : 16 – 19, and Malachi 3 : 1, 2, and in several parables of Jesus in the new Testament, but nearly all the Old Testament prophets, and John the Revelator and even the Lord Jesus Himself in His parables in the new Testament, had been implicated in the problem. And that is the reason why those prophets prophesied in Amos 3 : 7 should have emerged in this time of the end, to provide for us the interpretations of all the secret things mentioned by prophet Amos into the testimony of Jesus Christ, which had been developed into THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY (of Revelation 19 : 10). And since “the testimony” of Isaiah 8 : 20 has been developed unto THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY to accommodate all the rules of implementation of the law of the ten commandments, then is to be fulfilled the words of Moses ever since the beginning when he began to write the Old Testament Scriptures : “THE SECRET THINGS BELONG TO GOD OUR GOD, BUT THOSE THINGS WHICH ARE REVEALED BELONG TO US AND TO OUR CHILDREN FOR EVER THAT WE MAY DO ALL THE WORDS OF THIS L A W.“ – Deuteronomy 29 : 29.
