“Unto 2300 days, then
shall the sanctuary be cleansed.”
(Daniel 8 : 14)
Most Seventh-day Adventists should have been familiar with this prophecy of Daniel, because this is one of the prophecies that covers a very long span of time in the history of the world, that had ever been taught in the church., that though not yet as fully and as rightly deliberated among us, there are yet several things need to be maintained. This prophecy of Daniel was just for the first time interpreted in the time of the end as those instructed to Daniel in Daniel 12 : 4 by the angel Gabriel. Therefore, with the emergence of William Miller in 1831, when he began to proclaim the events to take place ever since the beginning of the 2300 prophetic days in 457 BC up to the coming of Christ, first of His first mission in Palestine to meet the fulfillment of the prophecy of Daniel 9 : 20 – 27, and secondly in A.D.1844 which they supposed to be the second coming of Christ. In the prophecy one prophetic day always stands for one year. Read Ezekiel 4 : 6. Hence, by the coming of Miller and his message in 1931, we may be assured that we have now been in the time of the end.
William Miller is well-known as the fifth reformer after Dr. Martin Luther. And therefore he is inevitably to be also one of the New Testament prophets as those outlined by Apostle Paul in Ephesians 4 : 11 – 14. He came before Mrs. E.G. White came into being our prophet and the founder of our Seventh-day Adventist Church. Mrs. White herself was ever before one of the staunch believers in the Advent message proclaimed by William Miller.
The reckoning to find the beginning and the end of the 2300 prophetic days has been successfully achieved by Miller that the prophetic period ends in A.D.1844. Therefore, the cleansing of the sanctuary should have begun in 1844. However, regarding the sanctuary and how it should be cleansed, they obviously erred to suppose that the Lord Jesus was to come to purify the whole earth with fire. Therefore, when obviously the Lord did not come in 1844 as that scheduled in their own minds, there were a great disappointment happened among the people of God of the time. To this situation the servant of the Lord said :
“Jesus did not come to the earth as the waiting, joyful company expected, to cleanse the sanctuary by purifying the earth by fire. I saw that they were correct in their reckoning of the prophetic periods; prophetic time closed in 1844, and Jesus entered the most holy place to cleanse the sanctuary at the ending of the days. Their mistake consisted in not understanding what the sanctuary was and the nature of its cleansing. — Early Writings, p. 243.
The fulfillment of
the prophecy of Revelation 10
The Millerite movement and their message, and the great disappointment of the time, were ever long before predicted by John the Revelator in his book the Revelation chapter 10. Let us read them here below:
“And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud : and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire : And he had in his hand a little book open : and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot on the earth. And he cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roareth : and when he had cried, seven thunders uttered their voices………………..
“And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven. And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer :
“But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.
“And the voice which I heard from heaven spake unto me again, and said, Go and take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel which standeth upon the sea and upon the earth. And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey. And I took the little book out of the angel’s hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter.
“And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before m a n y peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.” – Revelation 10 : 1 – 3, 5 – 11
‘Angel’ in the book of Revelation is usually symbolic. The crying angel stands for a message, such as the angels of Revelation 14 and Revelation 18 : 1. Whereas the silent angel usually represents a people or a leadership, such as the angel of the church of the Laodiceans, which represents the General Conference of SDA leadership.
The angel of Revelation 10 : 1 represents a message from heaven to be proclaimed unto the entire world, either upon the sea or upon the earth. John the Revelator was first representing William Miller as the appointed servant of God to open the prophetic book of Daniel in the time of the end. He, therefore, had taken the little book out of the hand of the angel, and ate it up. In his mouth it was as sweet as honey, but later in his belly it was bitter and very disappointing. So the prophetic words of Revelation 10 have indeed met their fulfillment in the experience of William Miller and his followers in 1844, just as they failed to see Jesus come according to their expectations.
The message proclaimed by Miller was actually containing two main subjects :
1. The subject on the events to transpire during the 2.300 prophetic days or years, and
2. The subject on the sanctuary and how it shall be cleansed when the 2.300 prophetic days or years expire. After the great disappointment, which resulted from their failures of interpretation on the sanctuary and how it was to be cleansed, then came the instruction to John the Revelator, that he should have the prophecy on the sanctuary truth be prophesied again. In Revelation 10 : 11 we read : “And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before m a n y peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.”
That is, the message itself obliges John to once more proclaim the truth on the sanctuary and how it should be cleansed. John has represented William Miller at the first instance that had failed, then at the second instance John again represented not only Mrs. White who was tasked to proclaim the sanctuary truth once more, but even Bro. Victor T. Houteff as well to join in. You know why ? The cleansing of the sanctuary is actually to be done through a judicial process. This is the investigative judgment, which is going on in the heavenly sanctuary since 1844. Mrs. White had been tasked to first proclaim the judgment on the cases of the dead, and Bro. Houteff followed her to proclaim the judgment on the cases of the living in the church.
Instead of proclaiming the message unto the entire world, however, the angel instructed John to restrict the proclamation of the message to only “before m a n y (not all) peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.” That is, Mrs. White and Bro. Houteff were instructed to prophesy a g a i n (to proclaim THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY) to only a limited number of the world people in the Seventh – day Adventist churches.
We are now living in the time of the end. The investigative judgment is still going on in the heavenly sanctuary on the cases of the dead. The servant of the Lord, Bro. Victor T. Houteff said :

The servant of the Lord, Mrs. White said :
“If William Miller could have seen the light of the third message, many things which looked dark and mysterious to him would have been explained. But his brethren professed so deep love and interest for him that he thought he could not tear away from them. His heart would incline toward the truth, and then he looked at his brethren; they opposed it. Could he tear away from those who had stood side by side with him in proclaiming the coming of Jesus? He thought they surely would not lead him astray.
Do you believe that Moses of old is indeed a prophet of God? The whole Christian world believes and recognizes Moses as the prophet of the Lord. And so we should have believed also in William Miller as the prophet of God. He had emerged on the stage of history in the past as a prominent messenger of the Lord, proclaiming the second coming of Christ in 1844. He had ever moved thousands of people from different denominations of his time to anticipate Christ to come in 1844. Despite up to the end of his life time, the light on the sanctuary and how it was to be cleansed after the 2300 days of Daniel’s prophecy, was not as yet clear in his mind, he was obviously never against the message. Hence, he was never before implicated in the sin against the Holy Spirit, the unpardonable sin.
The name WILLIAM MILLER has been placed in the same row parallel with the great name of Moses, the prominent prophet of the Lord. He is now resting in the grave under the watchful eyes of the guarding angels of the Lord. He was assured to be resurrected in the first resurrection of the just of Revelation 20 : 6, which is the same resurrection mentioned by Paul in 1 Thessalonians 4 : 16, 17.
“The mystery of God …… as He hath declared to His servants, the prophets.” What does it mean ? It is none other than the mystery of the prophecies of the Old Testament prophets, which includes the prophecy of Daniel. The mystery of the prophecies of the Old Testament should have been interpreted in the time of the end, following the prophecies of Daniel. And they all must be provided us in THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY before the voice of the trumpet of the seventh angel began to sound, to signify the close of probation in the heavenly sanctuary. John, the revelator said:
“But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.” – Revelation 10 : 7.
The proclamation of the mystery of the prophecies should be finished prior to the voice of the seventh angel when he shall begin to sound. That is, the proclamation of the mystery of the prophecies should be finished in the last period of the angel of the sixth trumpet. We are now in the period of the sixth trumpet. The mystery of the prophecies has all been interpreted into THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY, and they are now enlightening our people everywhere in Laodicea, preparing our people for to stand when the investigative judgment in the heavenly sanctuary passes to the living in the churches on earth. After which the whole world in turn will have to be enlightened, to call out of Babylon those people of God who are also to be delivered to the kingdom in Palestine. Then comes the trumpet sound of the seventh angel, to proclaim the accomplishment of the whole process of the investigative judgment in the heavenly court of justice, which is also marking the accomplishment of the whole process of cleansing the sanctuary. John the Revelator said :
“And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.” – Revelation 11 : 15.
Jesus would have accomplished His work, as the high priest before the golden altar in the heavenly sanctuary, and as a mediator in the heavenly court of justice in the sanctuary, and as a Lamb of God, He would have changed all the jobs for again to reign as King of kings, and Lord of lords for ever and ever.
There should be time no longer!
John the Revelator said :
“And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven. And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer”— Revelation 10 : 5, 6.
How serious is the statement from the angel that stood upon the sea and upon the earth, that he sware by the name of Christ, the Creator of the universe. Now since the angel himself symbolizes a message, then it must be inevitably the message from Christ Himself, the Testimony of Jesus Christ, which is THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY (Revelation 12 : 17, 19 : 10).
The servant of the Lord, Mrs. Ellen G. White said :
“The book that was sealed was not the book of Revelation, but that portion of the prophecy of Daniel which related to the last days. The Scripture says, “But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end : many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased” (Daniel 12 : 4). When the book was opened, the proclamation was made, “T i m e s h a l l b e n o l o n g e r.“ (See Revelation 10 : 6). The book of Daniel is now unsealed, and the revelation made by Christ to John is to come to all inhabitants of the earth. By the increase of knowledge a people is to be prepared to stand in the latter days.”– Selected Messages, Book 2, p. 105.
The prophecy of Daniel which related to the last days has now been revealed. Even the book of Revelation as the complement of the book of Daniel (Read The Acts of the Apostles, p. 585) should have been revealed also consequently. Therefore the proclamation that was made, “Time shall be no longer,” should have come from THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY, to be addressed first to you and me in the Laodicea Church of Seventh day Adventist. By the increase of knowledge of THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY a people of 144.000 in number is to be prepared to stand in the latter days, when the cleansing of the sanctuary in heaven passes to the cleansing in the Laodicea Church on earth. The servant of the Lord said :
“The Judgment of the Living on earth commences with Ezekiel 9, but in heaven (in the books) after Ezekiel 9. The judgment of the Living is in two phases : the first phase is a separation that takes away the wicked from among the righteous, Ezekiel 9. The second phase is the book work when the investigation takes place, and when the sins of the righteous and the names of the wicked are blotted out of the records in Heaven. This second phase, the judicial session in heaven, is what commences after Ezekiel 9.” – The Symbolic Code, Vol. 12, No. 3, p. 20.
We are now living in the time of the end. The mystery of God in all the prophecies of the Old Testament prophets is now provided us in THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY. This is the last message from Jesus to plead with us, to prepare us as a people to stand in the latter days of this time of the end. In the prophetic words the Revelator said : The angel that stand upon the sea and upon the earth sware by Him, the Creator of the universe, that there should be time no longer. Therefore, this is the last angel indeed that symbolizes the Testimony of Jesus Christ, which is THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY. And this is the last message of the eleventh hour call, that first to prepare the laymen of 144.000 in number, as a people to stand in the latter days, and then to empower them to proclaim the message of the eleventh-hour call to the whole world up to the sixth hour, sunset, which is .the close of probation in the heavenly sanctuary. The servant of the Lord, Bro. Victor T. Houteff said :
“If the leaders in God’s church at the present time should accept the eleventh hour call, it would be out of the ordinary. But should they reject it, God cannot start a new movement, f o r t h e r e i s t i m e n o l o n g e r.” – The Shepherd’ Rod, vol. 2, 233.
Are you still doubting, Brother, Sister ? The angel that sware by the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Creator of the universe, warned us positively, that T i m e S h a l l B e N o L o n g e r for another message to come after this. THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY is obviously the last message for today.
Legacy from the fault of Miller, Why is it not as yet discarded ?
The servant of the Lord said :
“Jesus did not come to the earth as the waiting, joyful company expected, to cleanse the sanctuary by purifying the earth by fire. I saw that they were correct in their reckoning of the prophetic periods; prophetic time closed in 1844, and Jesus entered the most holy place to cleanse the sanctuary at the ending of the days. Their mistake consisted in not understanding what the sanctuary was and the nature of its cleansing. — Early Writings, p. 243.
“If William Miller could have seen the light of the third message, many things which looked dark and mysterious to him would have been explained.” — Early Writings, p. 258.
Due to the fact that Miller did not as yet see the light of the third angel’s message, which is the Spirit of Prophecy by Mrs White, that he had made a great blunder in proclaiming to the world the second coming of Christ in 1844 to purify the earth with fire from heaven. Nevertheless he was later forgiven by the Lord, because he was not implicated in any sin against the truth. It has been testified of him that if he could have seen the light of the third message, many things which looked dark and mysterious to him would have been explained, and they would have not fallen into such deep disappointment.
But how is it with the leadership at the General Conference of SDA and their staunch followers in the world today, upon whom the third angel’s message by Mrs. White is now enlightening so abundantly? Do they not care to the fact, that due to the great disappointment of Miller and his people, the Lord had sent John to make known that the mystery of God, even on the cleansing of the sanctuary must be prophesied again? The mystery of God as He had declared to His servants the old Testament prophets should have been finished (interpreted and proclaimed to the world) before the close of probation, that is, before the accomplishment of the cleansing of the heavenly sanctuary.
N o w, after the prophecy of Daniel which related to the last days is revealed, and even the whole mystery of God as He had declared to His servants the prophets be proclaimed in the churches through THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY, then to the rejecters will apply the warning: T h e r e s h a l l b e t i m e n o l o n g e r!
Obviously THE SPIRIT OF PROPHECY will be the only last message of the eleventh-hour call, to be proclaimed within its allotted limited time before the close of probation at the twelfth-hour, sunset. This Eleventh-hour Call is to prepare a people from among the laymen in the churches, to stand when the cleansing is first to take place among the living in the SDA churches as prophesied in Ezekiel nine.
C o n c l u s i o n
To conclude we have quoted for you herewith a diagram of the prophecy of the 2300 days of Daniel 8 : 14, and its concise explanation as provided us by the author of the Book, “THE ORIGIN AND PROGRESS OF SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTIST.
“The heavy line represents the full 2300 year-day period, the longest prophetic period in the Bible. Beginning in B.C. 457 when the decree was given to restore and build Jerusalem (Ezra 7 : 11 – 26; Daniel 9 : 25), seven weeks (49 years) are measured off to indicate the time occupied in this work of restoration. These, however, are a part of the sixty-nine weeks (483 years) that were to reach to Messiah, the Anointed One. Christ was anointed in 27 A.D., at His baptism. Matthew 3 : 13 – 17 ; Acts 10 : 38. In the midst of the seventieth week (31 A.D.), Christ was crucified, or “cut off,” which marked the time when the sacrifices and oblations of the earthly sanctuary were to cease. Daniel 9 : 26, 27. The remaining three and one-half years of this week reach to 34 A.D., or to the stoning of Stephen, and the great persecution of the church at Jerusalem which followed. Acts 7 : 59; 8 : 1. This marked the close of the seventy weeks, or 490 years, allotted to the Jewish people.
But the seventy weeks are a part of the 2300 days; and as they (the seventy weeks) reach to 34 A.D., the remaining 1810 years of the 2300-day period must reach to 1844, when the work of judgment, or cleansing of the heavenly sanctuary, was to begin. Revelation 14 : 6, 7. Then special light began to shine upon the whole sanctuary subject, and Christ’s mediatorial or priestly work in it.
Four great events, therefore, are located by this great prophetic period, — the first advent, the crucifixion, the rejection of the Jewish people as a nation, and the beginning of the work of final judgment.” — The Origin and Progress of Seventh-day Adventist, p. 142.
The author of the book entitled “ORIGIN AND PROGRESS OF SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTIST” is none other than The General Conference of SDA. The book was printed by The Review and Herald Publishing Association in USA, and was in possession of the copyright, 1925.
This is to show us that even back in 1925 ever since, the leadership of the General Conference of SDA should have fully understood, that the cleansing of the sanctuary ever since 1844 should be carried out through a process of investigative judgment in the heavenly sanctuary. But due to their negligence to investigate further into the new light, presented to them through the message of the angel of Revelation 18 : 1 by Brother Victor T. Houteff ever since 1929, then instead of teaching us what the sanctuary was and the way it should be cleansed, they even then led us back to repeat the fault of Miller by preparing us for the second coming of Christ. And this is the reason why our people are now in a race to compete with all other fallen churches out side to see Jesus at His second coming in the air, without the least thinking of how to put priority to cleansing of their bodies and souls nor of their churches, from sin against the rules of implementation of the Law in the SPIRIT OF PROPHECY.
