The types of sins that have the potential to bring down His people who are keepers of the present truth and at the same time thwart the implementation of God’s work completion plan

Sin is the transgression of the law, and the wages of sin are deaths. And although according to Isaiah 1 : 18, 19 and Proverbs 28 : 13 it might be said that though they are as red as scarlet, our sins will be forgiven to be made as white as snow if we will obey and hear or confess and leave them behind, but this is not the case, not all types of sins can be forgiven, there is a classification of sins, namely sins that can still be forgiven and the sins that cannot be forgiven anymore  as here in the following words:

Matthew 12 : 31, 32:

31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. 32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come

• Proverbs 24 : 16:

For a just [man] falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.

• 1 John 5 : 16:

If any man see his brother sin a sin [which is] not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.

For this type of unpardonable sin, namely sin against the Holy Spirit, Ellen G. White said:

SDA Bible Commentary Vol. 7A p. 213:

No one need look upon the sin against the Holy Ghost as something mysterious and indefinable. The sin against the Holy Ghost is the sin of persistent refusal to respond to the invitation to repent. (RH June 29, 1897)

After Jesus’ return to Heaven, He sent another messenger to replace His work, namely the Holy Spirit or Holy Spirit and especially in this last period when the time for the disclosure of God’s secrets was opened to fulfill the words of the angel Gabriel to Daniel in Daniel 12 : 9, then now in our time God really works to convey His words through the encouragement of the Holy Spirit who is present in the work of His missionaries, Ellen G. White gives her instructions regarding this matter:

Evangelism pp. 255, 256 :

In ancient times God spoke to men by the mouth of prophets and apostles. In these days He speaks to them by the testimonies of His Spirit.

Thus because today the way the Lord works is done entirely through the guidance of His Holy Spirit as prophesied in Zechariah 4 : 6, Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This [is] the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts., then a stern reminder to us now is to be careful to reject any offer of the products of the Holy Spirit that comes to us.

An illustration of how dangerous it is when one rejects the offers of truth that God has given us under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Many people have the understanding that the people of the last flood perished because of the various crimes they committed, but when re-evaluated more deeply it turns out that what made them perish was not because of their crimes, but sin for rejecting the offer of truth. the time is as explained below:

Timely Greetings vol. 1 no. 50 p. 15:

Noah was commanded to build an ark, and to tell the world that a flood was to cover the earth, that only those who would get into the ark would escape alive.  One hundred twenty years later the animals were strangely seen to march two and two into the ark!  Noah and his family also went in, while the rest of the world laughed and ridiculed.  But when the rain began to pour, the situation ceased to be “funny.” Those outside the ark cried, mourned, pled.  But all perished as fools only because they had failed to give heed to present Truth, had failed to feed on “meat in due season.”  What folly!  What disaster!

Another example is from the experience of the people in the time of Jesus, where the majority of Christians believed that the reason the Jews were rejected as the chosen people was because they were involved in the crucifixion of Jesus, but that was not the case, the following words of Ellen G. White gave us the answer:

The Desire of Ages, p. 770:

Many had flocked to the crucifixion from curiosity, and not from hatred toward Christ. Still they believed the accusations of the priests, and looked upon Christ as a malefactor. Under an unnatural excitement they had united with the mob in railing against Him. But when the earth was wrapped in blackness, and they stood accused by their own consciences, they felt guilty of a great wrong. No jest or mocking laughter was heard in the midst of that fearful gloom; and when it was lifted, they made their way to their homes in solemn silence. They were convinced that the charges of the priests were false, that Jesus was no pretender; and a few weeks later, when Peter preached upon the day of Pentecost, they were among the thousands who became converts to Christ.

It can be seen from the above quotation that God still accepts the repentance of the Jews who participated in the cruelty of the false priests crucifying Jesus at Golgotha which proves the words in Matthew 12 : 31 namely “All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men:, but then on another occasion after the message was continued by the Apostles under the guidance of the Holy Spirit of the early rain, because they nationally rejected the message brought by the Apostles, it was marked by the death of Stephen who was stoned by the Jews. their nation was rejected, then the message turned to the pagan nations, this is as we can read from:

Acts 13 : 46:

Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.

This is how we see how the illustrations are examples when people reject an offer of products from the Holy Spirit that has been in effect in the past.

Since Satan knows that his time is very short, now is the time for him with vengeance he devotes all his efforts to defend what he has held for nearly 6,000 years by blocking the appearance of the first 144,000 fruits, because if he loses now, then he will lose forever – duration. Now that we have had a sufficient explanation of the dangers of an unpardonable type of sin, namely sin against the Holy Spirit, further questions that we deserve an answer especially for our day are:

If in the past the images of the fall of His people due to rejecting the offerings of the Holy Spirit, then according to the growing truth apart from rejecting the offer of truth as in the past, what kinds of falls against the Holy Spirit are also a threat and It is necessary to pay close attention to those who have the potential to overthrow those who are already in a more advanced stage, namely those who have accepted the developing truth (The Shepherd Rod’s Message) and at the same time thwart the appearance of the first group of 144,000 fruits?

The answers that we can get include in the book Timely Greetings volume II  No. 28 pp. 13 – 19, Victor T. Houteff provides an explanation for us about the sin that has the potential to plague God’s people at work in this most recent period, namely from some of the effects of sin that Satan created for His people, there are two types of sins highlighted by Victor T. Houteff for us to pay attention to with carefully, namely the sin of believing in humans and exalting oneself, as follows:

It is explained that sin or wickedness existed before Eve, that is, it has existed since Lucifer and according to Revelation 12 : 4 when he was cast out of heaven, he brought a third of the angels in heaven to participate in being cast down to earth, quoting the words of V. T. Houteff namely:

“………….These two sins — trust in man, and desire to exalt self — are still the leading sin elements now here on earth.  This was Eve’s stumbling block and to many even today it is still the stumbling block.

………

This same stumbling block, the desire to exalt self, has predominated throughout the ages, and it predominates today. ………………….

Multitudes are still charmed by such so-called good men, and multitudes unquestionably accept their decisions as it they were God’s decisions.  Against such, remember Inspiration warns: “Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils: for wherein is he to be accounted of?” Isa. 2 : 22. …………

Let us, therefore, never forget that the spirit of self-exaltation originated all the evil which we see today, and which is harder at work than ever before.  We should not give the Dragon a chance to trap us, and dump us into doom with the “third part of the angels” who took hold of his tail and could not let loose of it.  Let us ever remember that–

“The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day.” Isa. 2 : 11.

We can see from the above quotation, of the many effects of sin created by Satan which he generally targets individuals as they are well known to many people, such as killing, adultery, stealing, wanting other people’s things, loving their wealth more. Instead of being willing to follow Jesus, all of which are a group of violations of the 6 types of commandments which are the second side of the stone log of Moses, in Victor T. Houteff’s explanation he does not mention these sins, but emphasizes two types of sins, namely believing in humans or depending on others and exalting self or arrogance. Regardless of the danger of other sins, the reason why these two sins are emphasized more by Victor T. Houteff to us when this work has entered its final period than other types of sin, the answer is when a person falls into a known type of sin. the crowd, this sin will not have an effect on the possibility of the failure of the first 144,000 fruits to appear, this sin will only affect the person concerned and for such sins, because there are parties who are victims and can that person be aware of his distraction. His obedience to GOD commandments because of the idols of wealth that he still holds and cherishes, it is possible for people who commit these types of sins to confess them and leave them, so that their sins can be bleached like snow upon their repentance.

However, for the two types of sins, the first is the sin of believing in humans, because in practice allowing other people to think for him, whether or not he can repent is very dependent on the person who is hanged, the magnitude of the danger of sin being dependent on humans is described in the following excerpts:

Testimonies to Ministers, pp. 109, 110, 111:

“We must study (read) the truth for ourselves. No man should be relied upon to think for us. No matter who he is, or in what position he may be placed, we are not to look upon any man as a criterion for us. We are to counsel together, and to be subject one to another, but at the same time we are to exercise the ability God has given us, in order to learn what is truth.

…… The Jews perished as a nation because they had been deviated from Bible truth by their own leaders, priests and elders. If they had obeyed the teachings of Jesus and then searched the Bible for themselves, they would not have perished. God wants us to depend on Him, and not on humans.

He desires us to have a new heart; He would give us revealings of light from the throne of God

Education, pp. 230:

As the student sacrifices the power to reason and judge for himself, he becomes incapable of discriminating between truth and error, and falls an easy prey to deception. He is easily led to follow tradition and custom. … The mind that depends upon the judgment of others is certain, sooner or later, to be misled.

Since this culture of depending on human thought is ingrained in the spiritual practices of Christians in general, including Adventists, and even now some truth-holders are still doing the same thing, that’s why Victor T. Houteff made this kind of thing. This sin is one of the sins that need to be emphasized to be aware of by us who are truly at the end, that is, when we are already in the period when His messenger has been cut (Zechariah 13 : 6, 7). The following is a quote that illustrates this:

Timely Greetings vol. 1 no. 5 p. 14:

Isaiah 2 : 11 :

The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.

Man has long been exalting himself; so much so, in fact, that there are perhaps only a few Christians in the world that are really following “the light of the Lord.”  Most of them are following sparks of men, following uninspired interpretations of the Scriptures, — devisings of men, men who scoff at the idea of Inspiration; they see no need of more Truth or of prophets, although they well know that the only Truth that has ever come has been through chosen servants of God.  Even present Truth believers have not as yet fully awakened to this startling revelation, many of them are carried away with every wind of doctrine, much of which is created by impostors such as Korah, Dathan and Abiram (Num. 16 : 9 – 11) coveting Moses’ office — usurpers of Inspiration’s Throne — taking sides, one for Paul and another for Apollos,……

Maybe from our minds the question arises if the people we depend upon are the true workers of God, won’t this make our position safe from being found breaking the law? Against this, the words of Ellen G. White in the quote from the book Education above provide the answer which says “The mind that depends upon the judgment of others is certain, sooner or later, to be misled.“, thus the prohibition of not depending on humans is not. limited only to false workers on the satanic side, we can get this more clearly from the example shown in the incident Paul’s anger against the people at Corinth:

1 Corinthians 3 : 4 – 7:

3 : 4  For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?

3 : 5 Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?

3 : 6  I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.

3 : 7 So then neither is he that planteth anything, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.

We note from the quotation of Paul’s experience above, first, even though we all believe that Paul and Apollos were God’s instruments for early Christian times, especially the Apostle Paul who had been proven to be a worker who brought the gospel of Christ from reading the stories of the book of the Testament. It is new, but it turns out that such behavior is not justified and Paul’s experience also provides an answer to why almost throughout the Christian world from the time of the Apostles to the current reformation era, the majority of members of the church who are known to stop their spirituality when their respective messengers died, they do not want to go any higher than the truths that have been shared by their messengers, this too is true in these last days.

Furthermore, we see from the above quotations talking about hanging trust in humans as inseparable from the other type of sin, namely the second type of sin that was warned by Victor T. Houteff to be aware of, namely exalting himself, because this person who exalts himself is what idolized by those who place their trust in others. The following quote describes it for us:

Timely Greetings vol. 1 no. 5 p. 15:

Isaiah 2 : 17 – 20 :

And the loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be made low: and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day. And the idols he shall utterly abolish. And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth. In that day a man shall cast his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which they made each one for himself to worship, to the moles and to the bats;

What idols are to be abolished? — Idols that walk.  They are, therefore, men whom the people idolize.  They, and those who idolize them will run into “the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth.”  Only those that cast out the idols shall be spared.  In these verses three kinds of idols are mentioned: (1) works of men’s hands, (2) men that are revered, (3) gold and the silver that are worshipped.

These shall be abolished, there are to be idols no more.

We notice from the quote written by Victor T. Houteff, of the three types of idols, there is one type of idol which he emphasized to be more aware of it, namely who “shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be made low” are those who are adored by many people. and they are called “idols that walk”, from this quote it can be seen that these people who are worshiped are not from people who are on the side of God, they are from clear from those who have position and who are exalt himself.

Furthermore, the following quote also describes the sins of exaltation that occurred during the journey of the Israelites out of Egypt:

The Answerer vol. 1, answer to question no. 4, p. 62:

The Mosaic Movement was led out of Egypt to possess the land of promise, and there to become a kingdom. Cunningly suiting his temptations to their predispositions, Satan inspired those who were of age when they left the land of Pharaoh, to continuous murmuring, complaining, office-seeking and rebelling, and finally to fearing the giant inhabitants of the promised land. Failing to see that their strength was the strong hand of the Lord, they were consequently forced to wander forty long years in the desert, and there to leave parching the bones of all but two of their members who were of age when they left Egypt.

Unbelief, stiffneckedness, distrust of Divine leadership, and office seeking, therefore, were the four-headed monster that devoured the people of the Exodus. And these will devour every Present-truth believer who strays into their lair.

We see that the failures of the nation of Israel cannot only come from one trial, but must occur from two influences, namely trials for members who depend on their leaders and also trials on their leaders who seek positions and rebel. The combination of these two influences caused the Israelites to suffer the consequences of wandering forty years in the wilderness before they could enter the land of Canaan. Then Victor T. Houteff from this experience of the fleshly nation of Israel he reminded us “And these will devour every Present-truth believer who strays into their lair.”

The next explanation of Victor T. Houteff in answer to question No. 4 of the Answerer book volume 1 pp. 64, 65 he shows how dangerous the consequences of the sins of exalting oneself with an uninspired biblical interpretation are for the development of the reform movement:

Being determined, though, to bring the Reformation to naught, Satan has from its beginning constantly worked to cause every church member to revel in private interpretation of the Scriptures and in extra Biblical theories. Consequently, Protestantism today finds itself following not merely in the way of the uninspired Bible interpretations of one man but in the ways of the uninspired interpretations of thousands of men! And the result is that Christendom teems with schism and confusion unrivaled in history–evidence that the great work of the founding fathers of the Protestant Reformation has been perverted and turned into an undermining force for the frustration of God’s special design for the church today.

Thus we see that the Reformation, which, originally under the direction of inspired men, lifted the church out of one morass, later under the direction of uninspired men, plunged her into another, wherein she has been floundering ever since. And unless we let the Truth extricate us from this fatal bog of confusion, we cannot defeat the Enemy of Inspiration in his tireless and powerful efforts to pervert the implements of our salvation into weapons for our destruction.

Victor T. Houteff’s explanation is in line with his explanation in Timely Greetings volume 1 No. 5 p. 14 earlier that said: “Even present Truth believers have not as yet fully awakened to this startling revelation, many of them are carried away with every wind of doctrine, much of which is created by impostors such as Korah, Dathan and Abiram (Num. 16 : 9 – 11) coveting Moses’ office — usurpers of Inspiration’s Throne — taking sides, one for Paul and another for Apollos,……” It can be seen that these self-interpretations and additional theories of the Bible created by this cause the division and chaos of the Christian world and it turns out that the existence of these teaching winds still exists in groups that claim to have come out reformed from the conditions of the Laodicean congregation. The Answerer vol. 1 answers to questions No. 4 pp. 66, 67 Victor T. Houteff warns holders of the truth now:

…… Thus again the Lord mercifully pleads with Present-truth believers to walk in the light and shun lukewarmness, lest they fall back into thinking themselves rich and increased with goods and in need of nothing, and again become poor and in need of everything. Thus we see that while Satan has not been able to overthrow every individual member, he has, though, been able to overthrow every Movement to date.

From this quote because of Victor T. Houteff’s warning addressed to “Present-truth believers” and affirmed “lest they fall back into thinking themselves rich and increased with goods” and shows that they are not members of the Adventist Church who have rejecting the present offer of truth, namely weaving as the parable of Matthew 13, can be concluded this way because it can be seen from the use of the words “and again become poor and in need of everything” which implies that the people referred to by Victor T. Houteff are those who are Those who have left their previous condition who feel rich and are increasingly wealthy are those who have received gold, white clothes and eye ointment.

Victor T. Houteff also emphasized the warning to be aware of the dangers of the types of sins of Korah, Dathan and Abiram because the ability to bring down EVERY movement did not only happen in the past but also reached “every Movement to date”, meaning that it does not escape the Davidian leadership movement. Victor T. Houteff himself will also be defeated, namely his movement before the eleventh hour movement of the 144,000 party assisted by the outpouring of the Holy Spirit of the latter rain, because only this movement cannot be defeated by Satan, as the words in the continuation of his explanation in the book The Answerer volume 1 answers to question No. 4 p. 67:

The Eleventh-hour Movement, being the very last, is consequently in the greatest danger of all. What urgency, then, that we keep our eyes wide open lest we, too, fall! This Movement, however, being the last gospel effort, must “give power and force” to the Third Angel’s Message and “lighten the earth with his glory” (Rev. 18 : 1); it must triumph, though every Movement before it has failed. It is destined, not to “prophesy again” to “many nations” (Rev. 10 : 11), but to “all.” And as it is to go to those who have not heard of His fame, and to bring to the house of the Lord all the saints “out of all nations” (Isa. 66 : 19, 20), it is consequently foreordained to endure.

Because the warning given by Victor T. Houteff is targeted at the holders of the truth now, namely people who have left the lonely conditions of the Laodicean trial, the words to beware of “wind of doctrine, much of which is created by impostors such as Korah, Dathan and Abiram” above are not separated from the sins mentioned in the prophecies written by John the revelator:

Revelation 14 : 4, 5:

4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the first fruits unto God and to the Lamb.

5 And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.

Revelation 22 : 18, 19:

18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

From the verse written in Revelation, it can be seen that at the time of gathering the 144,000 there will be types of people who will be found inappropriate and do not escape because they are practicing what is forbidden, namely adding and subtracting from the prophecies of God’s word that have been poured out in the bowl Zechariah chapter 4, the practice of adding and subtracting from it is what constitutes deception in the mouths of some of the 144,000 un-joined Adventists.

The teaching results of these actions of adding and subtracting which are then embraced by people who are said to even be among those who claim to be holders of the truth are now certainly carried out by people who feel they have more talents or have pride, they certainly don’t. humble oneself, does not apply the principles of learning the truth according to Zechariah chapter 4, namely that sometimes when someone reads something written by God’s messenger, he finds something that is considered special and then immediately exaggerates it without testing whether it is compatible with other bowl’s writings, as Ellen G. White said:

Great Controversy p. 396:

The spirit of error will lead us from the truth; and the Spirit of God will lead us into truth. But, say you, a man may be in an error, and think he has the truth. What then? We answer. The Spirit and word agree. If a man judges himself by the word of God, and finds a perfect harmony through the whole word, then he must believe he has the truth; but if he finds the spirit by which he is led does not harmonize with the whole tenor of God’s law of Book, then let him walk carefully, lest he be caught in the snare of the devil.

Furthermore, Victor T. Houteff’s warning that we, the holders of truth today, should be aware of the second sin, which is to exalt ourselves or pride, we get from the following reading:

Timely Greetings vol. 1 no. 49 pp. 4 and 5 :

….. To remove the hindrances, the one had to get rid of his riches (Jesus said to a rich young man), and the other had to get rid of his pride (Jesus said to Nicodemus).  To eradicate pride, one must be born again, must become a new man.  But to eradicate the love of money one must give his money to those who really need it.

The Scriptures bear record that Abraham was very rich.  Yet he is called the “friend of God.”  Riches in themselves, therefore, can be a blessing, although they more often become a curse.  Pride, however, is never good.

Remember that the Devil finds in every one of us at least one loop-hole.  Whatever that loop-hole be, it must be done away with — be it riches or be it pride.  Of course not all are rich and tied to their wealth, but everyone can be tied to himself, the “old man.”  And not all need give up riches, but all need cut loose from the “old man” who gets them into everything but what they ought to be in.

In accordance with this explanation, we find that we need to immediately recognize our own weaknesses that can become a shooting hole of Satan, and from the two examples of images that prevent a person from becoming a follower of Jesus, it turns out that it is arrogance or tied to himself, the “old man” said to be never good and therefore he insists it is necessary to immediately let go or be abandoned.

Reasons given for immediate release or abandonment include:

Timely Greetings vol. 2 no. 28 p. 19.

Let us, therefore, never forget that the spirit of self-exaltation originated all the evil which we see today, and which is harder at work than ever before.  We should not give the Dragon a chance to trap us, and dump us into doom with the “third part of the angels” who took hold of his tail and could not let loose of it.  Let us ever remember that —

“The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.” — Isaiah 2 : 11.

From the quote we are reminded to be careful because Satan will be more active in creating a spirit of self-exaltation or arrogance in our current period than previous Satan’s efforts, while in fact it says “all the evil which we see today” is born from the exalting spirit of yourself these.

Another reason is because the attitude of a person who is proud or exalting himself tends to be difficult to be convicted of or converted by the work of the Holy Spirit, because the way God works from time to time always uses simple methods and people, as well as in this last work, in Generally, people who feel that they are smart will only be willing to hear input or criticism from others whom they consider to be of a higher position or education / intelligence than themselves, but in this work of God, He demands humility from each of His people, as the following quote :

Isaiah 3 : 2 – 5:

2 The mighty man, and the man of war, the judge, and the prophet, and the prudent, and the ancient,

3 The captain of fifty, and the honourable man, and the counsellor, and the cunning artificer, and the eloquent orator.

4 And I will give children to be their princes, and babes shall rule over them.

5 And the people shall be oppressed, every one by another, and every one by his neighbour: the child shall behave himself proudly against the ancient, and the base against the honourable.

Matthew 18 : 3, 4:

3  And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

4  Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

1 Korintus 1 : 27 – 29:

1 : 27  But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

1 : 28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:

1 : 29 That no flesh should glory in his presence

Testimonies for the Church Vol. 5 p. 461:

…… Brethren, if you continue to be as idle, as worldly, as selfish as you have been, God will surely pass you by, and take those who are less self-caring, less ambitious for worldly honor, and who will not hesitate to go, as did their Master, without the camp, bearing the reproach. The work will be given to those who will take it, those who prize it, who weave its principles into their everyday experience. God will choose humble men who are seeking to glorify His name and advance His cause rather than to honor and advance themselves. He will raise up men who have not so much worldly wisdom, but who are connected with Him, and who will seek strength and counsel from above.

Testimonies for the Church Vol. 5, p. 82:

God will work a work in our day that but few anticipate. He will raise up and exalt among us those who are taught rather by the unction of His Spirit than by the outward training of scientific institutions.

Great Controversy p. 606 chapter 38 The Final Warning:

Thus the message of the third angel will be proclaimed. As the time comes for it to be given with greatest power, the Lord will work through humble instruments, leading the minds of those who consecrate themselves to His service. The laborers will be qualified rather by the unction of His Spirit than by the training of literary institutions. Men of faith and prayer will be constrained to go forth with holy zeal, declaring the words which God gives them. The sins of Babylon will be laid open.

So that for the warning of Victor T. Houteff to beware of the arrogance that is said to be “is never good” let us not underestimate the instructions of divine messengers sent to His people in order to prepare the way for His sudden arrival to His temple.

In explaining the arrogance problem, Victor T. Houteff explained using the example of Nicodemus, who was embarrassed to be seen in the group of Jesus, so he met him at night.

Why Jesus’ suggestion to Nicodemus was “be born again” is shown in the following explanation given from Timely Greetings vol. 1 no. 49 p. 6 :

For Jesus to become one with us He had to be born again; He had to become an earthly man.  And for us to be one with Him, we have to be born again, born of the Spirit.  The difference is that Jesus was first born a spiritual, a Divine being, and second a human being; whereas we are first born human beings, and second spiritual beings.

Although the advice to be born again in the example we get from the Nicodemus story and it is not recommended to another person who has a barrier to being able to follow Jesus from his wealth, however regarding the obligation to be born again it is also obligatory for everyone including the rich young man, this is we can know from Jesus’ words as follows:

John 3 : 5, 6:

3 : 5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

3 : 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit

Then the question regarding the two types of sin that we are discussing in depth is whether it is a sin that can still be forgiven or is it a type of sin that cannot be forgiven? Here’s an explanation from Victor T. Houteff:

The Latest News for “Mother”, Jezreel’s Introductory Appeal p. 8 :

It is these so-called venial sins of becoming prejudiced and self-satisfied, and of leaning upon others, that have ever led God’s people away from Him. Then too, the fear of coming in contact with error has all too often kept them from coming in contact with advancing Truth. These pet fears and sins condone by most Christians and even defended by many, have, at the introduction of each advancing Truth, robbed multitudes of eternal glory.

According to the quote above, we can understand that it turns out that these two sins, namely “trust in man, and desire to exalt self” are still classified as sins that can be forgiven, that is why God through his servants Ellen G. White and Victor T. Houteff while still providing opportunities. to us by giving His guidance and with His compassionate warning so that we can immediately take advantage of the offer of the Holy Spirit to get up immediately to get rid of the fruits of these two sins which may be that among us holders of truth are now slowly being affected by the winds of teaching as well as starting. have interpretive views of their own which are considered superior from the perspective of the author and are not based on the procedure of biblical interpretation of the golden bowl of Zechariah chapter 4.

It is said that these two sins are included in the class of types of sins that can still be forgiven, not types of sins that cannot be forgiven are concluded from the description of the following verse:

• 1 John 5 : 16, 17:

16  If any man see his brother sin a sin [which is] not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.

17  All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.

From these verses we can understand that if the two types of sins above that we are discussing are types of sins that cannot be forgiven, then it is impossible for God to be willing to offer mercy by calling to awaken His people, especially those who hold righteousness now, because it contradicts His words written in the book of 1 John, which even praying for people who are guilty of unpardonable sins is not allowed, however refusal of the offer of opportunity or warning to wake up if it is underestimated and neglected, then God has there is no more way to heal or cure the disease of these types of sins, thus the two types of sins which were originally not an unforgivable sin, but in their development because the people who were brought to be convicted refused then it was. make it fell into an unforgivable sin, for that Mrs. Ellen G. White explained:

SDA Bible Commentary Vol. 7A, p. 213:

No one need look upon the sin against the Holy Ghost as something mysterious and indefinable. The sin against the Holy Ghost is the sin of persistent refusal to respond to the invitation to repent. (RH June 29, 1897)

Thus, after we read the entire discussion above, we are now able to know the answer to our question at the beginning of the discussion which asks about what types of falls against the Holy Spirit are also a threat and need to be examined which have the potential to bring down those who are already inside. a further stage, namely those who have accepted the growing truth (Message of the Shepherd’s Stick) as well as thwarting the emergence of the first group of 144,000? There are two types of sin which are “trust in man, and desire to exalt self” These two sins remind us that in the past these two sins have been able to bring down all movements, but they will still be the dominant and powerful elements of sin today on earth. Meanwhile, other sins, such as adding and subtracting, which in the end lead to deceit in the mouth, especially for people who hold the truth now, are sins derived from the two sins as their fruits.

If these two types of sins are still underestimated and ignored by the holders of the truth now, it is possible and not impossible for Satan to eventually thwart the appearance of the first group of 144,000 fruits, even so according to The Answerer book volume 1, the question No. 4 it says that “The Eleventh-hour Movement (Group of 144,000) …….. it must triumph, though every Movement before it has failed, but at least this vigorous effort by Satan will be able to bring down individuals unconsciously. make followers of the winds of teaching or become self-exalting people who exaggerate their discoveries and do not want to be humiliated to learn to listen to the advice of simple people chosen by God.

In closing, let us try to read a piece of advice from Victor T. Houteff regarding the character characteristics of His people what kind of character will God entrust to the completion of this final work? :

Timely Greetings vol. 1 no. 7 pp. 11 & 12 :

In the very prime of life, Moses thought himself capable of delivering the children of Israel.  But Providence said: “You are not fit for the work, come out and I will make you fit.”  And out Moses went.

He did not need Pharaoh’s training in order to do God’s work.  It was a hindrance to him!  Why?  Because it made him self-sufficient, independent of God.  Such a person would be the right one to lead God’s people away from Him and into sin, but the wrong one to lead them to God and away from sin.

How true the statement in Testimonies, Vol. 5, pg. 80: “…In the last solemn work few great men will be engaged.  They are self-sufficient, independent of God, and he cannot use them.  The Lord has faithful servants, who in the shaking, testing time will be disclosed to view.”

God can help only those who know that they are unequal to their task, those who know that they need His help.  So, then, those who think that they can do wonders are the very ones who can do nothing but harm.

Plainly, those whom God is to use in His final work, in the time of the end, are not to be anything like the Egyptian crown prince, not anything like the learned Moses.  Those who can learn to keep and feed sheep well and to readily take orders, are the ones who can be taught how to keep and feed God’s people.

The above quotation very clearly invites us all to inspire our minds to open our eyes wide, remembering our considerations on the journey of each other’s experiences and at the same time forcing to correct our thoughts for the rest of the journey ahead, namely that when we feel most worthy to come nor work for God, at that time in God’s sight the most inappropriate and inappropriate time to work in His big field of work in the last days because “Because it made him self-sufficient, independent of God.  Such a person would be the right one to lead God’s people away from Him and into sin, but the wrong one to lead them to God and away from sin.

Since our thoughts and thoughts of God differ like heaven and earth, may the experiences of those Israelites in the past can teach us to always remember that all His ways are not our ways, so through this writing we are all reminded once again to be aware of these two types of sins. , and more so be reminded that the main objective of Satan’s mission is to address those holders of the truth now, not to address the average Adventist church people whose majority have rejected the offer of the Holy Spirit’s message. So it is from this lesson, as soon as possible we leave and get rid of our spiritual experience all the potentials of these two sins from ourselves, before God, through His means with weapons of slaughter, will force us to become aware of the offenses that have been committed.
